The City maintains its policy register through Corporate Services. Active policies are referenced in Council resolutions and (for some) are published here. Three paths, in order of speed:
Council adopts a policy through a resolution at a regular meeting. To amend or rescind, Council passes a new resolution. Significant policies sometimes get reviewed periodically as part of broader Council priorities or strategic planning.
Want to propose a new policy or a change? Two routes: appear before Council as a delegation (10 minutes to make your case in person) or write directly to Council through the Mayor’s office. Both are legitimate and both go on the public record.
