The City buys a lot of things, from snow contracts to fire trucks. Active opportunities post to BC Bid.
The City of Castlegar runs a competitive bidding process for goods, services, and construction under BC municipal and provincial procurement law. The intent is straightforward: equal information, equal opportunity, defensible award decisions. Every public tender goes through BC Bid so any qualified vendor in the province can see and respond.
All public tender opportunities are posted to the provincial BC Bid system at bcbid.gov.bc.ca. Bidders are responsible for monitoring postings and downloading any addenda issued during a tender period.
To bid on a City of Castlegar tender, proponents must meet the following minimum requirements:
Reference PDFs for safety program requirements (prime contractor and non-prime) are available through the City's tender page.
Contractors invoice the City through Accounts Payable. An EFT (electronic funds transfer) form is required for direct deposit. Invoices go to ap@castlegar.ca.
Register a supplier account on BC Bid and configure notifications for the categories that match your business. New tender postings will be emailed to you automatically.
Tip
Read the document carefully
Contract awards above defined thresholds are reported to Council in the public meeting agenda. Look in Council minutes for recent award decisions.
